How to Log out from an account on SmartAlbums
You can log out of SmartAlbums if you want to activate the software with a different email address. To do this, you can click on Help > Log Out.
Important: Save all your work before logging out to avoid losing any progress on your projects.
Before you begin:
- SmartAlbums version 2025.3.1 or later is required to log out
- Update to the latest version if needed
Common reasons to log out:
- Switching to a different Pixellu account
- Moving from a trial account to a paid subscription account
- Using SmartAlbums on a shared computer
- Troubleshooting account or activation issues
To log out:
If you see the expired trial screen:
If your trial has expired and you're seeing the login/activation window:
- Click the Log Out button on the screen
- SmartAlbums will return to the main login screen
- Log in with an account that has an active subscription

If SmartAlbums is open and active:
- Click Help in the top menu
- Select Log Out
- Confirm the logout when prompted
- SmartAlbums will return to the login screen
You can now log in with a different account by clicking Log In With Browser and following the activation steps.

What happens when you log out:
Your albums and projects
- All saved albums remain on your computer
- Your work is not deleted when you log out
- Albums are saved on your computer
- Previous account's albums remain accessible in your files
