How to Change Ruler Units

SmartAlbums allows you to change the ruler measurement units in Designer View. Choose between pixels, inches, or centimeters based on your preference.

There are two ways to change ruler units:

Method 1: Quick Change (Right-Click)

This is the fastest way to change units while working on a design.

1. Open an album in Designer View
2. Right-click on either the horizontal or vertical ruler
3. Select your preferred unit from the menu:
   • Pixels
   • Inches
   • Centimeters

The change applies immediately.

Method 2: Album Preferences

Use this method to set your preferred units for the current album.

1. Open an album in Designer View
2. Click the Inspector tab (typically on the right side)
3. Go to Album Preferences
4. Find the Ruler Units or Unit of Measure setting
5. Select your preferred unit from the dropdown
6. The rulers update automatically

Good to know:

What else changes? When you change ruler units, the Image Frame Adjustment Controls in Designer View also update to use the same units. This keeps all measurements consistent.

Does this affect all my albums? No. The ruler unit setting is specific to each album. You can use different units for different projects.
