How to use the text tool
To add text to your spread, double-click on your spread to enter Designer View and click on the Text tool available on the toolbar to the left:
Once the
Text tool is selected, click and drag a textbox on any area of the spread to add your text. You can then create new lines of text by simply selecting
Enter on your keyboard. If any text becomes hidden due to the size of the text box, a message will be shown notifying you to increase the size to ensure all text is visible within its assigned text box.
Additional Tools
Once your text is added, you can adjust the text settings using options such as font, size, style, color, or alignment in the Tool Options bar at the top:
1. Font type (font previews will be shown in the font menu)
2. Font style
3. Font size
4. Underline
5. Tracking, which determines the distance between typed characters
6. Line spacing, which adjusts the spacing between lines of text
7. Text alignment
8. Text color
