Recovering a lost project (Windows only)

If you are having trouble opening or finding your previously saved album, this may be because the project is lost or the project file is corrupted. Thankfully, Pixellu SmartAlbums periodically makes a backup of your project files. Follow these steps to restore your album:

Step 1: Access the backup folder

Open Control Panel and choose Appearance and Personalization.

Select File Explorer Options (Folder Options).

Click the View tab at the top, and under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files and folders. Click Apply at the bottom to save your selection.

Step 2: Search for the lost project

Use Windows File Explorer to navigate to:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Pixellu\Pixellu SmartAlbums\Backup\

Use the search field in the top right corner to look for the project name in the Backup folder. In the example below, we will enter "My New Project" as the name of the project that we are looking for.

Step 3: Save your project

Finally, open the project and save it in a permanent location by using the menu item File > Save As...
